Thinking of getting one for multi day tours on tarmac and lanes any views would be welcome

I like mine they just about do it all. I was trail riding in the peaks at the weekend and rode 80 miles to work and back today. Biggest compromise is tyres.

a great tool. best bike i have ever bought. Last Sunday Rode 50 miles to meet Tony, Rode 60 miles on the lanes and then rode 50 miles home again back in time for dinner. in my view its the modern day DRZ goes anywhere does everything you want of it and does not need to be fettled overtime you use it.

Got a real turn of speed for the road, even for the motorway and will slog along in heavy mud at 15mph

downside ......its a tadge heavy if you drop it too often but i don't as often as i used too.

go for it.

And if you don't like orange, virtually the same bike is now available in white as the Husqvarna 701

Go for it as it’s a great all round bike also check out rally raid for loads of very well designed and engineered products to turn your 690 into a great travel bike..

Here’s a picture of mine in the Pyrenees around 2000 miles in 12 days and it never missed a beat..

One thing to share though is I’ve just had to have new rocker arms fitted and the bikes only done 8.5K miles apparently this is a common problem your know because the engine rattles really badly..
