Hi,

Trying to organise a fun day.
Would the 'Land owner' be exempt from any liability claims under the TRF insurance cover ?

Your answer would be much appreciated.

Is there any advice packs available to assist in organising these type events.

Many Thanks Martin

Hi,
Thanks for the replies.....Dorset is my local group.

I have read and understand that we are using our RTA insurance, which is fine for the riding aspect, spectators and organisers.

I, however, have been asked specifically to ensure that the Land owner will be personally indemnified and protected against any individuals being able to claim against them personal,y as a result of any unfortunate accidents.

The trail will be marked out around the private woodland, no competition element, only fully paid up and road legal members will
be riding and a maximum speed will be observed on the day, we will have first aiders on site.

So I think everything else conforms.

Many thanks Martin Diamond.

:D Hi,

Thank you to all for the input on this.

I have now resolved all the issues and we are now confident that the event will go ahead once all the party's are happy.

Cheers Martin Diamond.

Martin. Please call me. Currently from you comments you may have misinterpreted the insurance issue. You need to contact marketing@trf.org.uk if you are organising fun events. You will need organisers cover as your RTA insurance will not cover your organisers public liability.

I am unaware of Dorset TRF having opted in for TRF event insurance cover

Hi Gray,

The event is our Fun Day it's in it's early development stages. This is the club's 3rd time [my 2nd event] we've
organised. I'm a bit of fussy git and like do it safely and correctly for all the obvious reasons.
Having now got the good advice and help from various members along the way. I am very confident that the day will be great fun
and very successful as in the past.

The current venue although very good, It is very limited in size. However if we can use our experiences gained and find a suitable venue [ I have made some enquiries locally] and may be in the future we can expand the numbers and open the invitation nationally. Will keep you all posted.
Thanks again for everyones help and input.

Cheers Martin Diamond Dorset TRF ;-)
