The Ramblers campaigned with PDGLA to raise a petition calling for the banning of all motoring on green lanes in National Parks. It attracted around 1800 signatures as I recall.

The Ramblers also maintained a "green lanes at risk" register whose mileage of lanes listed comprised around 2% of the green lane network.

More and more lanes are being improved with creative management solutions that stop short of PTRO's. They work because they start from a basis of seeking to improve the lane for ALL legal and responsible users. These success stories are the anti's greatest fear.


"Gone is our green lane" could be delivered with the ample objective evidence available that demonstrates the truth regarding issues in PDNP.

Fact is that for a tiny proportion of the cash wasted on entertaining the extremist agenda of a minority a significant improvement in the lanes could've been achieved over a year ago that would've benefitted all users AND met goals to conserve and enhance the special qualities of the park.

Beyond that there would've been cash left spare to secure some of the many unrecorded bridlepaths and RB's for the benefit of non-motorised users.
