Voluntary restraint on Motor Vehicles on Chapelgate
The TRF are asking all trail riders to avoid using Chapelgate whilst the route remains in it's current waterlogged condition. The route has had only minimal repairs carried out along part of its length and excessive damage by over use in these conditions will provide an excuse to close it again. We're all about conserving the heritage of our green roads & we need to remind everyone we are acting as the guardians of access for all users.

Stonehenge - a battle won
Fear of legal action from the Trail Riders Fellowship has deterred Wiltshire Council from closing seven Byways Open to All Traffic around Stonehenge. Wiltshire Council intended to ban motorized users from the routes as part of elaborate plans to construct a commercial Visitors Centre at the World Heritage Site. The byways, which are used as a convenient viewing point by many visitors to the stones, would have been converted into dedicated trackways for land trains transporting tourists from a massive car park onto the site itself.
