2006 VW Transporter T5 1.9 tdi 104 swb

Advertising as a project, probably a relatively easy one for someone who has the time/floor space and knows what there doing.

Needs a new turbo and cam by the sounds of it. Here's the story:

Driving my usual weekly commute home (220 miles) last weekend and there was a loss of power, I assumed it was in limp mode but it would slowly crawl pass 2k rpm so obviously wasn't. A friend of mine who works for vw/Audi recovery company came to take a look and plugged in. Injectors all good, EGR removed and cleaned (have photos), vag com reporting nothing out of the ordinary. Vacuum tested turbo and the turbo at fault.

After this I drove it to the shop and a knocking in time with rpm has suddenly appeared. After a search on the forums and YouTube it looks like my cam lobes have worn.

As I'm in the forces and out of the country for the next 6 weeks I have no time to fix it and need a vehicle when I return so going to try and cut my losses and sell as is so I can buy a cheap car when I return.

Make of that explanation what you will and maybe someone out there is familiar with the fault?

The van itself has done 220k with full service history, I bought it at 202k and have done the mods myself. It's not taxed at the minute as I've sorned it. 11 months mot.
It's the 104hp swb t28. Also has a tow bar.

Mods:

Sound deadened, insulated and carpeted
Chequered vinyl floor with 6 tie down points
Fk coilovers + original suspension
Banded gp steel wheels with new tyres. + original steels.
Window deflectors
Van X curtain partition
Single passenger seat instead off double bench seat

I have a couple of pics but can't get any more until I'm home. Quite gutted to be fair as I was enjoying tarting it up, colour coding was next on the list along with removal of a few dents it has. The van was used to transport my KTM exc about.

Viewing can be possible with my old man in Hull

Any Qs, prob best to pm me on here.

I'm after £3200, £2800 without the banded wheels.
