No difference, I've tried all sorts to make it work.
Thanks again for trying Prelive but I guess it does need a complete overhaul.

It has never worked and never will, this whole system needs updating .

I don't think thats entirely true since I stayed logged in on a varierty of machines, OSes and browsers I have here to test with. In addition others have reported they don't have to login all the time. That said I agree the software is old and needs updating.

If those that are having problems could report their:

Device (phone, tablet, desktop)
Operating system (e.g. Windows XP, Mac, Linux)
Browser (e.g Internet Eplorer, Chrome)
Browser version e.g. IE7

I'll try to re-create the problem. If I can re-create it I have a chance of fixing it.

Thanks.

PC on Windows 7 and iPad on IOS6?

PC only lasts a couple of hours and iPad about the same.

Every other forum keeps me logged in all the time.

EDIT: Log in lasted from 8.00am to 1.40pm on my PC today with around 5 visits (for research purposes) - now had to log in again.

Thanks for this David. So on the PC it lasted 5 hrs 40 mins with you dipping in and out? Which browser are you using please? Would you be willing to look at the cookies that have been set on your machine, don't worry if that sounds to techie, I can try to work round it once I know your browser but if you are it may streamline things.

Adrian,

I an using a PC with Windows 7 64bit
Browser IE9.0.15

Since the change, I've not noticed an increase in the log-in duration still being kicked out when I go back after a couple of hours.
If however I'm logged in when I shut the computer down when I restart, if I go back to the forum page it shows me as logged out but when I click the log-in buttom I'm immediately back into the forum without adding my user name or password. I'm logged out automatically after a couple of hours.
It may stay logged in if I dipped in and out but I tend to leave things atleast a couple of hours minimum before looking in again.

Peter

Eh?
I'm using Google Chrome on the PC but it has now dropped back to minimal logged in periods - about an hour or so. Chrome is the only one that works on all the work related sites I use. The iPad is on Safari but that's not used for work so I would normally only look at that once in an evening or weekend day.
Let me know what I need to look at and I'll do it - -probably tomorrow now as I'm off for the first proper ride of the year on my 950 - who-hoo!! And it's for work so I get paid for it!!

An hour and 'a bit' and I've just had to log in again. Seems excessive, especially as the login form/page appears to have no security, to have to repeat the passing of the username and password in plain text so 'arbitrarily'.
