"Remembering that GLEAM’s main objective is to protect rural Green Lanes from damage, largely by recreational off-road motor vehicles"

Well my WR400F is an on road vehicle, taxed and MOtd for all legal road use, on and off tarmac..

It seems objectives could be the same, protecting rural green lanes from damage, but I do not know enough to comment, so please feel free to delete my post

As always there seems to be little consideration that the "rural green lanes" referred to are ROADs...

Historically they were usually totally impassible during the wet season and formed a network of ROADs separate from the footpath network...

Walking traffic would generally take more direct routes and keep of the cart tracks because the surface was again usually chewed up by horses and narrow metal rimmed coach and cart wheels as well as suffering from quite a high level of manure and horse urine...

Besides they totally ignore the simple and rather obvious fact, confirmed by ALL studies, that agricultural use with the huge modern farm vehicles will continue to cause the vast majority of any "damage" that appears to be caused by vehicle use...

This totally negates any reason to try and ban trail bikes from any lane that will continue to have large agricultural vehicle use !!!!
