Yes, sorry, I should have qualified my last post.
I used those two trails, and many more, quite often when I lived in Derwentside.
I moved to Devon over two years ago and, therefore, I'm not aware of the
current status of those Geordie lanes - but I've used them many times in the past.
However, since moving down here I do know that Devon must the trail capital of England.
There are hundreds of catalogued, mapped and fully legit trails in the county. There are easy, technical, craggy, rutted, rocky, tidal, steep, streamed, forded, muddy - you name it and Devon has it.
The Devon Group of the TRF is very active, very friendly and meet regularly. Some members also manage to consume MANY pasties.
Spartanhead, if you meet with your local TRF lads I reckon they would point you in the right direction.
If you're not a TRF member then consider joining to acquire all the knowledge about the network of available routes in your area.
It's definitely well worth it.
