I have just bought some of the above for my DT125 which has an autolube system. I think this oil is primarily used be used as a premix. If I were to use it would it cause any issues. Thanks in advance.

Pre-mix is usually thicker, so it could flow slower through the pump, really you should use injector oil for auto lube system.

If you go on putoline website there is a tool where you enter details of your bike and it will tell you the recommended oil.

Thanks for the replies. I think the safest option is to drain the tank and put in the specialist autolube oil. I have looked on the Putoline website and they seem to suggest that MX5 can be used as an alternative but £10 for the correct stuff is cheaper than a rebuild so I won't risk it. Thanks again for the replies.

I have tried Putoline oils in my 2 strokes and didn't like them. They didn't burn clean loads of exhaust spooge and fouled plugs. Would recommend Motul 710.

I'm sure I used to use Putoline MX5 in my 2 strokes with no issues.

One was a TS125R that started off auto lube but I converted to pre mix. The other was a KDX200 that was always pre mix.

However, I was advised by my local bike shop to fit a bigger main jet when I converted the TS which I did. So NKL990 might very well be correct about the oil being thicker etc but on the other hand it was still the same oil?

Mind you, I never once had an issue with plugs fouling on either bike (or indeed any other 2 stroke I've owned) so perhaps Stevewest was getting the ratio wrong?

Or perhaps not, I really don't know but like Burt I never had a problem with Putoline 2 stroke oil.

Cheers

Richard

never had any problems with putoline oils used mx5 in a variety of moto x bikes when i was racing , ran the crm 250 on putoline tt scooter while i had the oil pump set up then went onto mx5 premix when i did away with the auto lube, and im now using putoline mx9 pre mix in the gas gas with great results , never had any problems and only one siezure  due to rushing about and filling up with neat petrol and the rm 125 still managed 4 laps before giving up and when i worked it out the poor bike was running at about 150 : 1 instead of 40 ; 1

No I wasn't running the wrong ratio  , but hey if MX5 works for you then use it. It's just that I have tried a few oils and prefer something else.
