I rode there a couple of Weeks ago and all the same as usual. Bumped in to local bobby ( not actually bumped into him ) up there and had a chat. He not seem to know any more than us, had to put him straight when he said TRF shot them selves in the foot by voting against a permit system, I told him we not against a permit system like bredhurst its the the proposed restricted days and rider number permit the council proposed that we don't like.
Pleasant enough copper and very friendly once he saw the TRF sticker, I think he's up there most days (and nights too) he was telling me he came across a load of 4 x 4 blokes from Essex playing up there the other night.
He drives a red land rover with police written on the back window so don't confuse him for a 4 x 4 laner, also stopped by the police on motorbikes a few weeks earlier, 3 of them on marked bikes and another riding separately on an unmarked bike, they also fairly friendly when they see the TRF sticker, worth the annaul fee just for that I think.

I'm planning to do some of the lanes I saw on svens videos near hassle st, roughly north of Ashford and south of Canterbury. I got a mate who also recently came off ( flipped off the back down commority steps, X-rays and stitches ) so we looking to trailer there and do a sedate ride.

I rode this earlier today and spoke to the regular plod in purple bland rover and he advised me the lane is being closed on the 17th July for six months then will be gated and only open to permit holders.
