Evening gents, does anyone use one of these helmet cams?
Are they any good? For over 100 notes it needs to be pritty good.
Also by my reckoning useing a 32gb card recording 720p@ 30 frames per second at 30 mins per gb gives me 16hrs recording time, somewhat hard to believe me thinks.

Cheers paddy.

Dont have the contour as it's not waterproof ,i have the Gopro Hd and is well worth the money especially as the new HD2 is out so you can get the first ones for a lot less ,also look at the Drift HD, that has a small remote control and view screen built in ,both come waterproof as standard .

On all these camera's you will get roughly two and a half hours recording time with a 16gb class 4 card running at 720p ,that is roughly how long the battery will last anyway

There are many good cheap HD camera's about now ,take a look on ebay for keychain camera/s but make sure they are the 720p ones .

The Contour HD can only hold up to a 16GB card. I got the Contour HD because it comes with a goggle mount. (I didnt want a permanent mount on my helmet). Heres a video of mine:

The quality of the contour seems really good from the video's ive watched. Not quite as good as the gopro but its cheaper and smaller. So seems pritty decent to me.

I have one and its superb.
Battery life is good, video is the best I've seen and the software allows you to overlay your gps route if you have a .gpx file of the trip.
Looks the part too, not like you have a toaster on your head
