Just want to say a big thanks to John leading the ride at Chirk just over a week ago, keeping me safe, showing me the way up the stoney lane - thanks to Nigel pulling my bike up out of the mud hole,( handy my bike has a grab handle on the front just for such situations), Jim helped get my bike over the tree, the other John on the same model bike showing me what it is capable of in more experienced hands, Ben for putting me in touch with the TRF and words of encouragement throughout the day.
Was terrified on and off throughout the day, found out my existing tyres were no good on mud, but surprised myself in not coming off more than I did ( came off plenty). After 130km ached all over but a big grin from the days ride. Hope to go again sometime.
