Hi guys, trying to find out where and what routes i can ride on but after several calls noone seems to be able to give me a stright answer. I have purchased a OS map and found loads of recreational routes and after calling OS survery group they said you can ride on them but need to check what ones....i called the local council rights of way officer and she didnt seem to know anything apart from i can ride it on byways (durrr) and some recriational routes but she coudnt tell me what ones. Does anyone know any routes or a group that meet up locally? :D

Those 'recreational routes' are, I'm guessing long-distance footpaths which is a sort of marketing label.

In reality, they include everything from footpaths to tarmac roads.

As said: join your local group

Hi smithy674,
I'm from the Oxford group and you're very welcome to come along to a meeting. Third Thursday, The Gladiator working mens club, Iffley Rd, next to VW garage.
Oxfordshire got hit hard by NERC Act, there are a few lanes left but not much. Consequently much of our riding is in Wilts, Berks or further afield.
