Hi All

I've just got a off road bike as a project (wr450) and looking forward to getting it sorted and out on the mud, thought I'd say Hi and see if there is anyone local that might know the area (I'm new to these parts lol)

Hi, you will need to travel a little way to find somehwere to ride I think.

Herts, West Anglia, or Oxford branches all good bets I should think.

Also, I lead rides from Bedford, Biggleswade and Kimbolton areas, if that's any good?

Thanks for the welcome

Bedford is around 20 miles for me which is is double but I'm not sure how nobly tyres would cope with a 40 mile round trip ?

Guess I'm needing a van now lol

Welcome to the TRF

If you ride gently on tarmac, you won't wear the tyres too fast. The main thing to avoid is harsh acceleration or braking: it's the combination of heat building up and accelerating/braking stressing unsupported tread that does for them.

Getting your wheels balanced helps, too.
