Hi all,

I don't have a bike yet and want to visit some dealers to see a variety of bikes and styles to try and work out what I want to get.

But the dealers in Berks/Bucks/Oxon/Hants that I know mainly focus on tarmac-going bikes.

Any suggestions on dealers to visit? I'm in Reading, Berkshire.

Cheers

James

Never used them, mind...but most TRF members seem, sooner or later, to get a 350 or 400 KTM.

To be honest, the only Japanese offerings for the trail bike market at the moment are the Honda and Kawasaki 250s.

Of those two the Kawa has the most potential as a trail bike, but the Honda is the better all-rounder and has the better residual values. Far more of them about, too.

Top tip...if you buy the Kawa and it seems gutless, there's a little switch under the clutch lever that can be disconnected and this will restore the 'go'.

NSL Motors at Weyhill Service Station are Fantic dealers, and the Fantic trail bikes are very good.

Gordon Farley in Guilford are GasGas dealers, and GasGas make some good bikes too.

BikeTech in Wiltshire do GasGas, AJP and other stuff too. They are a very good dealer.

Thanks guys. I mainly want to visit the dealers just to see a range of bikes, but would quite like to buy from a TRF member so I'll peruse the for sale forum when i know what I'm after.

I'm leaning toward a smaller engine 4 stroke (250-350) with key and electric starter so that it can double as a reasonable commuter alternative to my Triumph Daytona 675.

Cheers, and hope to see some of you soon!

James

The guys at Premier are good and off TRF members discount on parts - they are also taking on Husky as well as KTM shortly
