No,
Most groups have their own private forums or facebook pages/groups. for discussing and dealing with local matters, not relevant to the wider audience.

If I wanna post up a ride for my local group, I don't wanna post it here and get loads of responses from out of the area, likewise if I wanna post a specific local issue or ask advice on a local lane, I don't want loads of replies from out of the area folks, guessing at what may or may not be, I want someone local who knows.

90% of members don't use this forum. 50% of members don't use local forums or facebook. Most either rely on group meetings or calls to their mates that know. Or they just aint bothered.

It's rather nice to welcome members from other groups, whether invited or on the spur of the moment.

A recent example is that we wouldn't have had the great pleasure of meeting and having the company in Wales of Paul and Mike from Herts last month.

If all the FB groups are closed, you need the forum to ask for invites.
If you don't want interlopers, just say a ride is for your own group only.

Seems a shame for everyone to be in isolated groups with no national contact and no mixing of riders.

Hi David,

It was good to meet up with you guys, Mike and myself still laugh about the events each time we meet up. Thank you for posting up.

In a Herts we tend to use the Facebook group more than on here. I struggle more trying to keep the riders to a strict number. More often want to come along. Mostly due to us being such a large group.

I try to pop into this site daily. It certainly has its benefits, your events, Peak District post up their rides.

Facebook is more instant, however I still wish this site was used more.

I agree why not use this forum more after all we are on the same team so to speak also it is a closed forum, members only, so posting rides shouldn't be a negative thing and if you don't want your ride getting out of hand restrict numbers and details.
