Just got my renewal quote through from my current insurer Ageas via Cornhill and it's taking the p@ss! Looking for a multi-bike policy. Have been with Benetts and Carol Nash in the past and was not that impressed. Your thoughts and recommendations would be welcome.
All motor insurance renewals are going to go through the roof because of a change in the way major injury payouts are calculated thanks to poor returns on long-term investments.
simple explanation here:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02 ... overnment/If you have any accidents, your premium will go up even more. It's all about 'claims history' and apparently even being involved in a couple of small 'no fault' accidents makes the perceived risk of giving you cover increase.
Ride (and drive) safe.
Yes that's happened to me. My van has been hit 3 times when parked within the last 6 years. All unrelated and completely 100% no fault accidents, I was just really unlucky.
Due to these, I am uninsurable to be a named driver on my daughter's tiny learner car! They won't add me for any price. Anyone would think I'd been drink driving and mown down a bus queue!
