Hi all. Im riding to the lake district next month with a few pals. Its a yearly ped challenge we do, last yr was the Dday landings in normandy on mopeds the yr before the isle of man.
Anyway we will be staying in Keswick for a couple of nights and looking for ideal lanes to ride. I've found the old Coach Road and that looks great.
Can anyone please pm me recommendations for nice lanes within 40 miles of Keswick.
Thanks John

Greetings John,

I posted up on ViewRanger a ride setting off from Penrith, you would be most welcome to use or modify it if it might help you out in some way.

Please be aware that the Keswick end of the Old Coach Road needs treating with care and respect as it has been badly eroded by the effects of two severe wet winters.

TTFN

Hugh.

Greetings John,

Try following the link for Dockray;

http://my.viewranger.com/route/details/ ... 5388247|14

and try the following for Penrith;

http://my.viewranger.com/route/details/ ... 4704653|13

The two routes are similar or can be combined.

Hope these work and assist, if not get back to me.

TTFN

Hugh.

Greetings,

I have sent a PM to John as I had removed the link from ViewRanger. One of the lanes was brought into question but that has been cleared up so I will get around to posting the route again soon. I am visiting the area next week and want to double check things first.

Please may I politely remind readers to treat the folks, and especially the farmers, that you may meet with respect. Unfortunately, some in the past have not been as we are.

TTFN

Hugh.
