Greetings Andy,

I would recommend a cricketer's box too  Wear 'cammo' gear and you might trick folk into thinking that you are a farmer

There are folk who use such vehicles  but I would suggest that not too many in the Peak District. The problem here is the deep ruts that have been created on some of the routes plus narrowness of some of the trackways.

Unfortunately they are looked at with suspicion too, give a dog a bad name

However, there will be some folk who might need or choose to use them because of mobility problems so let's not be too quick to judge the book by its cover

What ever it is that you ride, just ride it with respect to others and the conditions ;)

TTFN

Hugh.

Hello Andy and welcome, there have been a number of quad riders in the Manchester group over the years riding with bikes with no problems whatsoever :)

We are Trail Riders.......the clue is in the name so it doesn't matter what you ride.......just how and where you ride.

The last letter stands for fellowship.......that means looking out for and enjoying the company of others

the first part requires ( but does not specify in what form) something to ride.

the last letter is not so easy........as it comes naturally when people with a common interest club together. If in doubt .... a sense of humour normally kicks it off to a good start. :D

welcome to the TRF. Welcome from Cambridge TRF.........its generally accepted that we are one of the more "posh" groups.....( the further North you go......well you'll find out soon enough)

Greetings to the Cambridgeshire Gentleman,

Well nobody told us that it actually had to have four wheels! Just that it had to be good at going through mud

I think we have 6 in Herts group. Always have to be careful with route planning. As not all byways are open to quads.

Welcome.

more so from the end of this month as many lanes have TRO notice of seasonal closures to mechanically propelled vehicles of more than 2 wheels. These lanes reopen ( normally) on the 1st of April. A Great number of the Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Suffolk and Norfolk lanes are affected by this ruling.

particularly important in Thetford.

East Sussex has that, and I believe any day now the existing conditions to exclude 4 wheels will no longer include a quadricycle.

:) Cheers for those positive replys, guys...........my original posting WAS made tongue in cheek, as I've not had any negative issues etc in regards to using Quads on public Vehicular Row's. :)

Accepted there are good reasons at times where a Quad could be at a certain disadvantage narrowness, really deep ruts etc,......as well as restrictions due to seasonal TRO's which, in some cases, as mentioned do exclude quads along with other 4 wheeled vehicles.

Look forward to meeting some of you when I get up to your neck of the woods.

All the best,
Andy
