Hi, do any of you off road veteran's have any recommendations as to whom would be best to insure ones off road bike through. I live in the West Yorkshire area and it seems that whoever I call regarding an off road bike no one's interested. Your advice would be most appreciated. :D

Although some people here may have Off road bikes the majority of our bikes are all road legal and as we only ride on legal lanes there are no issues on insurance.
If your bike is taxed and MOT'd (if necessary) most companies will insure you though some don't like the types of bike we use as they are more susceptible to theft.

If you want a genuine Off Road bike insured then it is likely you will need to go to a specialist like Adrian Flux, though I don't know if they will insure that type of bike, just remember it will not insure you to ride on the road.

In a few months the TRF members will have access to ACU membership which may open up more choice for members wishing to insure their off road bikes.

Regards

They're are not off road. No one insures for "off road". But we ride roads so just give hem the basic bro and say it's only used on roads.

Carole Nash and other brokers will give you fire and theft only (ie no 3rd party) insurance for bikes tht are either not road-registered or are SORNed.

Some brokers have got snotty about green laning and claim that their insurance doesn't cover it...this is based on a misunderstanding of the law.

Use another broker in these cases. If they can't get the basics right then they shouldn't be in the business.
