The seat on my 400EXC is unbearable!!!!!

Any recommendations for something more comfy and maybe a little lower?

I always likened them to having as much padding as an ironing board cover.

You can buy softer foams for them.

Try wearing some mountain bike shorts under trousers.
Obviously the ones with padding in the correct places, worked for me.

Aye, bike shorts, but you do need to go through the 'ARSE like Japanese flag' stage....or you will never be a Hard Arse !

Cheers for the tips guys I'll try the padded shorts.

Thanks for the advice BigTony I'm a big believer in getting up on the pegs. Not sure I could manage it for the 70-80 mile rides though.

I gave up wearing cycling shorts (on my motorbike at least) as the padding is in the wrong place.

I've heard some good reports on "Moto Skivvies" that have padding designed for motorcycling, not tried them myself.

Luckily my EXC has additional foam and a gel pad as it's set up for rallying and long days in the saddle, unfortunately it does mean that even at 6' 1" I struggle to get a foot down sometimes
