I'm going to buy myself a new bike, I had a look at a Beta, didn't really have a clue.
Looking at a Husqvarna FE501 at the moment, or do I stick with what I already know aka KTM.
Any input would be appreciated, but I got tired of two strokes years ago.

Do you mean new as in brand-new?

You may already know this but the new 'Husqvarnas' are KTMs in white with linkage suspension.

Yes a new bike, I've about £8k budget.
Apart from suspension and frame they are pretty much the same I know, but change is good.

I'd be interested to know how prices of spares compare between the two.

This is only my opinion , I went from a KTM exc 400 I thought this was an exellent machine until I purchased my new Husqvarna fe 350 I have had this for one year now and am over the moon with it a tank range of over 120 miles , bags of power but manageable light weight and a pleasure to ride, plus points comes with the newer front forks that I think are on the KTM six days, larger fuel tank ,linkage suspension , rad fan and sump guard all as standard I have done 2100 miles in the last year and just completed the tour of Portugal event of over 300 miles and the bike has not missed a beat , hope this helps in your choice of bike , only my opinion and I am most probably a bit biest as I own one : :D

I had a look Phil, he has more videos than I've ever seen but only found a 28 second one who was poor.

Blueray, I'm edging toward the FE501 because I'm 6'2 and just over 14 stone, I have always liked KTM six days but Husqvarna is looking good so far, freestyle bikes offered free delivery, I'm after them offering me some parts for free and they will have the sale.
No rush, I was looking at two weeks or so, not a lot happens around the Gatwick area. :(

I suggest the bike also matches the type of riding you do. A big heavy 500 will cope with your weight and height but will be more difficult to ride on technical trails.

I hate to admit it but I either cruise along steady if it is nice woodland or just hammer through full tilt, very little technical stuff from me
