Waterproof over jacket & trousers

Looking for a thin jacket to go over a normal jacket for when it gets really $*%tty! Trousers too. I know army surplus might be an option but not keen on looking like Action Man!

Look at the Royal Navy or RAF versions in their foul weather clothing.
I've got the RAF but it's a tad brighter than the Royal Navy blue.
£45 for a brand new set.
Only downside is the high collar but otherwise superb - great windproofing as well.
Trousers are nice and long and go over normal enduro trousers outside bulky adventure boots.

It's not bulky as such, just high, as its not intended to work with a crash helmet.
For the quality, it's worth the minor hassle.
It was sub zero last Saturday and, with a thin neck warmer, I was as snug as bug.
No draughts

The A* one looks a bit thin, probably OK for road riding but won't take a tree branch sideswipe.
And they're £79.
My theory was that, for £45, it had to be worth a punt and I have no regrets.
I also don't want to look like a pikey or an mx riding God.

The army (desert) goretex over jacket and over trouser.. Are fantastic, yeah you look like an action man, but only to the three people you meet on the trails... I wear just the over jacket,with layers and body armour underneath... It's been a revelation this winter... And they are cheap/breathable....tried the rest (apart from Klim)... These do it for me....

Which are listed as Goretex. I noticed that some listed use Goretex in the title but then say they are MVP. Buyer beware!

Dutch army gore text was recommended to me and after looking for sometime found them on eBay in my size.
Do exactly what you need them to do and more robust than the cheap over suit type.
It is a little bulky but does fit in my rucksack.
Any ex-services gear should be fine.
