I need a bit of help here. Can anyone give me the word for the study of maps? I don't mean cartography as in drawing maps, I mean being interested in looking at, studying, collecting, interpreting maps in an anoraky kind of way. I just need a word for this hobby.
Thanks in anticipation.

Cartophilia?

Just make sure you call yourself a cartophile, and not a cartophiliac ;)

Personally I consider myself to be a mapaholic.

My wife considers me to be a sad git!

Ah, I see you understand the difference between being a cartophile and a cartophiliac

Edit - I've gone and added a duplicate and now I can't delete this post, as the post has already been replied to, by my fat-fingered self. Note - must really learn how to get to grips with this teknollergy stuff.

Ah, I see you understand the difference between being a cartophile and a cartophiliac  , but it really is cartophilia - http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cartophilia

And in case you're wondering, I have no interest in maps in particular. I'm a lot more interested in using them, preferably if gadgets and bikes are involved :geek:
