I have tried a couple of free sites for legal music to add to my videos, but the music available is pretty poor.
If I upload to you tube with any reasonable music added,it is contested and removed quickly due to the copyright laws e.t.c by you tube.
So where are the best sites for music I can use for my videos legally ?

Hi Gray.

All the music I use comes from here (free): https://vimeo.com/musicstore

Or here (paid): https://vimeo.com/musicstore

Vimeo music store is good but you have to filter through a lot to find what you are after. The search function is pretty good.

Good luck!

Greg

Sifted through Vimeo Greg, until my ears were burning.
Still searching...or failing that it could just be the sound of the engines.

I just use the engine sound. There must be a way of using mainstream music though because people do

YouTube has a collection of music, both free and ad-supported that you can use https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music

I have done a few to music.

Most note the 3rd party match to music and it wont play on phones, but will on computers.

I have had a couple which are banned in the odd country, but only 1 that had music muted by copy right. So double check

Hi Gray,

A lot of the free / illegal site shave been shut down, like beemp3 / piratebay etc. You can download Youtube clip converter, simply copy and paste the music video URL and drop it in the required place, you can then select the conversion format, so if you want the music only, then select mp3 and 'Download' - You select the location for the file to be stored - JD. You can split a video / audio file in most movie editing software, but it's less fuss if you just download what you need.

http://www.clipconverter.cc/

As said, you will get a message from Ytbe saying third party content and blocked in some countries and it won't play on all devices.

Here's one that someone made earlier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3d7JrtILcQ

Hope this helps. ;)

I've had a "cease and desist" letter from Warner regarding a track I'd used on one video, this is a standard letter they send out copyright violators, which in my opinion is fair enough.
Recently however I've noticed a more enlightened approach from some music publishers. I posted up a video with some music from a relatively obscure artist , within a few hours the algorithms used by the publishers had picked it up and instead of issuing a cease and desist the software simply plonked a small advert promoting the artists album on my You Tube channel. Now that's what I call a sensible approach.
I suspect if you're using music by bands like U2 or the Stones the record companies won't be so accommodating, but when it's an obscure low selling artist I guess they think a bit of exposure won't harm sales.
