Chinese Rental Vehicles refer to those which are registered in China. It is different from foreign vehicles self-driving in China..
In 2010, NAVO has organized 18 groups of foreigners driving Chinese rental vehicles across China and its neighbor countries.
Members of these groups mainly came from Australia, UK, France, Hong Kong, Canada, America, etc., and they drove mostly Toyota PRADO, Mitsubishi 4WD cars and other Chinese brand SUVs. Their departure cities were Chengdu, Kunming and Lhasa.
我So far in China, NAVO is the only travel agency which organizes foreigners driving Chinese rental vehicles to head to China’s neighbors, such as Laos, Thailand, etc.
In China, there are many foreigners who can drive their own vehicles legally, of course, the premise is that they have achieved formal work permits in China and resided in China for six months or more already.
While for most foreign tourists, joining the tour of foreigners driving Chinese rental vehicles organized by NAVO will be the new travel experience.
