Folks,

I have recently bought a Beta Alp 4.0 which has a virtually new looking Michelin Enduro Competition MK6 road legal tyre on the rear but the front tyre needs replacing.

Now, I normally ride with Michelin or Pirelli road legal 'e' marked trials tyres and I have no experience of this type of rear tyre (nor even of riding the Beta yet  ), do any of you out there have such experience and would you recommend simply fitting a corresponding replacement front tyre; replace both with the Michelin trials tyres or something else :?:

I currently typically bumble along in the Peak District on my Serow but the Alp was bought with the idea of riding further afield such Yorkshire and North Wales where I think the current rear tyre might be more suitable.

I would use a comp 6 as they wear to quickly with road use, go for the comp 4 instead.

I use the 6 for enduros and the 4 for trail riding.

Hi Hugh,
That is a great rear tyre; although it wont last long.

Current favourites, amongst many, seem to be Maxis IT rears, and Enduro fronts. Much cheaper than Michelin too.

Thanks and based upon your advice folks I have ordered a Michelin Enduro Comp IV. Only practice and time will tell how I get on with them, being used to Michelin & Pirelli trials tyres in the past.
