Hi James, welcome to the forum :D

Unfortunately you've just missed the monthly Essex meeting, so it's probably best to give them a call in case there are any spaces on upcoming rides.

Yes there is a group of us from www.essexbikers.co.uk who ride regularly (take a look at the site and you will find us) starting from Horse & Groom on Roxwell Rd.

Also I understand there is a TRF ride this weekend, but I don't have the details as not on the mailing list as yet. Speak to one of the guys there and i'm sure they can help you out (I'm busy anyway, otherwise I would be going along).

I went to their meeting on Wednesday, I understand they have a newsletter that gets sent round by a gentleman called Steve, by email (who is not on the web anywhere), but I forgot to give him my address so I'm not in the know either unfortunately. I think all rides are advertised / arranged by email/newsletter, and there is one this weekend (generally each weekend after the second wednesday meeting).

I'm sure there is a contact number around somewhere if you need to call them up, as there doesn't seem to be much Essex presence on the web (where I live :geek: ) anywhere unfortunately.

I'm in Braintree and am also looking for people to ride with maybe at weekends? I'm looking at a CCM tomorrow and may well end upo buying it and being able to use it in the next few weeks.
Would like to go on a few rides out with a few people on some easy lanes as i've never had a trail bike and certainly haven't ridden off road!

If any of you are meeting anytime soon in the next few weeks can you let me know or tell me who i can get in touch with.

Cheers

Congrats on getting the bike Carl :) Did you join the TRF? Welcome James as well. :)

I'm not far from Chelmsford (west) and been looking to try green laning an Africa Twin for the first time. I've done it on 125s numerous times now but most of the TRF organised ride outs are on smaller lighter bikes as you've probably heard, and ususally for hours with a range of skill levels. If you guys want to go very slow with me on a few gentle lanes round here and can help me lift this insanely heavy bike back up (as I'd help you of course), I'd be quite interested.

Any other riders round here with big bikes they've green laned?

Best way to hook up with the Essex TRF is at one of our club nights. Second Wednesday of every month at the Wheatsheaf PH in Hatfeidl Peverel from c 8.30 onwards. We are usually to be found in the front bar.

Rideouts tend to be the Sunday after the meets and I have taken to posting the details in the Essex page on this forum - if you are not TRF memebers and not able to log in you will not be able to see this, so going forward I'll post there and also on the general page.

Look forward to meeting up with all you newbies soon.

Graham
