Hi

I looking for some solid info ;)

Im interested in getting a Pre 07 citreon Dispatch / Puegeot Expert van (there the same van). i want it for lugging bikes and kit around, and to kip in the back when i need to. (the offical load space dimension is 2050mm)

I need to be able to get two bikes in, bikes such as DR650, DRZ400, WR250.

The problem is...im getting very mixed info. some say 3 bikes will go, some say 2 will but the doors dont shut?!?

They changed the shape after 07, would like one these but as with everything......cost!

Thanks
Phil

Hi Phil

Never had one of these , however I am sure a mate had one

You could get the bike in corner to corner But not in front to back in a straight line unless you removed one of the passenger seats.

All being well an owner will be along soon to advise fully.

I looked into this a little bit, I don't think two bikes would fit. I'm now looking at a short wheelbase transit.

I understood only the post 07 dispatch would take a full size bike.

I do like transits but the dispatch drives just like a car with great MPG. but no good if i cant get a bike in!

I thought it was the post 07 vans that you could get a bike in....until i started reading conflicting info on the net. shame, as pre 07 ones are cheap!

Well...best get the overtime in and get that bank account topped up as it looks like it may be a post 07 van!

Cheers guys

Yes I would've preferred a car derived van with car-like mpg as it will be my only four-wheel transport but I have a bike I can commute on.

I have a 2002 expert disabled van with ramp I can get my drz in there and maybe my trials bike with a squeeze but wouldn't be able to get 2 large trail bikes in. but it is handy having the handbrake on the right hand side and gear change on the dash as you can have the front wheel of the bike between the front seats.

Hi, I have a 04 dispatch and have carried a 200exc and a 450exc regularly. One goes in forwards and one in backwards.
I have also carried a 640 adventure but it was tight on the height.
Love the van as it drives like a car!
Hope this helps

For those (like me) who are looking at small van's - don't forget that as a goods vehicle (irrespective of the actual use), they have a blanket 50mph limit on single carriageways or 60mph on dual carriageways. Assuming you would want to go as fast as that, of course. To get away from these limits, the vehicle has to be registered as either a motor caravan, with all the associated kit permanently fixed inside, or as a disabled conversion, when it is classed as a passenger car (M1).
