Post subject:  ktm sxc gearing

ive picked up a really nice second hand ktm sxc 625 to bimble round the lanes on but my god i know why they call em paint shakers NOW ! is there any way to get a suitable balance between first and second on the lanes :?: ( ie changing sprocket sizes ) 1st gear and your reving out-- second gear and your balls are bouncing off the seat 3 gear and bloody hell hold on for dear life !!! i guess maybe 625cc is a bit on the big side for laning i dont really know ? i am looking for a good balance of on off road ability.
ANY IDEAS HOW TO TAME THIS BEAST

I have a 640 ktm adventure R , I run 17 on the front which requires the case saver to be ground away a bit and 40 on the rear this gives very tall gearing which I find suits the bikes power for me, 16 / 40 would not need any modifications and would probably calm it down however you will then like me have a very tall first gear,
I don't think it's really the best bike for bimbling on, hope this helps :)
