Welcome to the TRF!!

I too 'used' to ride mountain bikes, green laning put an end to that but my waistline suggests I should get back out on the mountain bike once in a while!!!

Thanks all, I have to admit i have trawled all over for bike model advice. Im still confused but do know i want 4 stroke, electric / combo start and need something road legal for day and night. KTM exc is a possibility depending on prices. Im based in Lancing, West Sussex so need something that can handle some road miles as there are bugger all greenlanes in this area. I reckon I will be heading over to East Sussex for my riding.

All the best

UWI

Yamaha WR250 2003 onwards had leccy boot and kick

or Suzuki DRZ 400, CCM 404 both leccy no kick

Just ideas, I'm sure someone else will give you a longer list if you want one.

Welcome to Sussex trail riding.

We have regular runs over in East Sussex and Jonpaul1st and Sven will be along to give you better information.

I have a WR450 because of the road miles but, after a few months of riding I suspect that a 250 would have been sufficient and plenty powerful enough although I can have to ride maybe for an hour or so to get to the lanes.
After multiple stallings on Wednesday I would recommend electric WITH kickstart as I had flattened the battery a bit during the morning but it does charge up enough quite quickly.

Look forward to meeting you when you have a bike.
I think you just missed a Sussex Group meeting last night as it is only just up the A24 from you.

Hey UWI, I'm just round the corner from you, waiting for check to go through for the membership, then I'm all up for it (family allowing  ) I'll keep an eye out for rides etc, it's worth pm'ing me if you want to be in the loop for any suitable bikes coming into the area.
I've got an 04 wr250 and looking forward to some muddy stuff. Don't get out on the sports stuff so much these days!

I've just worked out who you are!!! You were in yesterday
