one of the reasons for giving up Enduro's ( apart from being cr@p) was getting an annual ACU license because as an insulin dependant Type II diabetic i have to get a doctors report which in the end used to take weeks to get ( thats because my local GP is a tw@T) and cost £120.00 so i would go for a day license.

I signed up for the event and a day licence, total cost £32!

this is where you get directed to https://members.acu.org.uk/Secure/Login.aspx

having only been out once on the bike since an accident 10+ years ago I am expecting to make a complete tit of myself!

would be good to meet some Kent TRF there as a recently signed up memeber!

Dan

this is a link to a list of currently signed people and bikes. nothing bigger than a 510 yet!! http://www.sidcupmotorcycleclub.co.uk/documents/2013_Timber_Woods_LDT_riders_list_018.pdf

I've just entered online 8-)

Never done one before and no idea what to expect on the trials sections - any heads ups ?

Are they held on the lanes or other private land ?

I've seen a few youtube vids from other LDT's and one guy had his GPS - is that allowed too?

Should be great fun making a complete tit of myself !!

You can use a GPS I guess but you get a road book. I have a road book holder which I made out of a plastic food container works well. The sections are normally in the byway somewhere. It's a good laugh. I remember doing it a few years back and someone managed to bin there bike into a lake. It had to be winched out.

The only use GPS will be is to track where you've been, not where you're going.
It will be utterly useless interpreting the road book - have a look at the guide on the Sidcup Club website.

The sections will either be part of a byway or on private land (with the owners permission of course ;) ).

If you are on Romney Marsh, definitely beware of the water (as Bushwacker mentioned) as it is very deep.

I helped plan the route, it's about 90 miles in total, a big loop around Ashford, takes in as many old roads and byways as possible. The sections are laid out by some of Sidcups trials riders.
It should be a nice days riding.

Are you going to be riding the route again to finalize? or is it all done now?

Good stuff btw. I no how much effort goes into putting on a LDT. Top work

No time mate, off to Wales next weekend. Do you want to test the road book? Pete.B is always looking for volunteers.
Someone will have to ride the route to post the notices.
I'll be there on the weekend of the event to help out on a section.

Probably a bit late for this year, but if you want to make a weekend of it, drop us a line and we'll show you around some of our other lanes. Plenty of good riding to be had in Kent.
