I'm after some help or advice. i am working on the development of a new TV series starring a well known british world track racing champion. we want to cross as much of the UK as possible using off-road routes, whilst promoting green and environmental issues - we might even use electric bikes!

i know that details of potentially legal tracks can be obtained from county offices but i wondered if anyone had any thoughts on how much of a coast-to-coast or north-south type route could be done off road?

Many thanks

Graham

Biggee,

Not personally aware of any actual routes, although I know some groups have done this in the past.

In the WYTRF, we are potentially looking to do one next year. This will need to be reccied and mapped, prior to us doing.

Unless you find someone who can specifically help, this is probably what you'd need to do.

Cheers

having done the coast to coast almost from its inception to its demise yes there is a route of sorts from Scarborough to Morecombe, the trouble now is that a lot of roads we had used in the dales are closed, but not to electric mountain bikes ,provided that is they fall within the government limits of power /wattage output otherwise they can be classed as a motorcycle( bring foward the image of park rangers and bobbly hats taking to the fells with ampmeters).I am aware of 2 trf groups who have run c2c events but not of late.
