Hi Spencer,

I'm suprised no one else has replied yet to you...............have a look in the members section of this forum if you are a full member and see if anyone posts in the Essex Trf group, if not, go to the contact page on the front of the website (not the forum) and you should find a name and a number for a group rep for your area. Then arrange to go to a local meeting and take it from there. Also have a look at http://www.trailbikemag.com/forum you'll find someone local to you on there.

I'm along way from you so not realistic for me to offer to show you round.

Hope this helps, Steve

Hi Spencer

I'm not from Essex but I am from Cambridgeshire and I know most of the north Essex (Uttlesford) lanes. The good news is that there's loads of great byways in the county so no shortage of riding.

If your a member already or thinking of joining up then as Steve suggested the best bet is to get in touch with the local Essex TRF group.

You could also get hold of a local Ordnance Survey map and look for byways open to all traffic these are the routes you can legally use. If you can't find any immediately around where you live (you don't say where in the county you are) then head for that bit between Stanstead and Saffron Walden and you won't go far wrong.

Cheers

Richard

Hi Spencer, I'm new to this as well and also in Essex. I still haven't got round to checking out the Essex meet. Pitch dark, working late and having a bike nicked haven't helped. I live not too far from Epping and also hoping for people to ride with. I passed my test in Chingford!
Andy.
