Hi all, new here, just picked up a 2005 wr 250 and it broke down after 5 miles, guy selling was nice and has taken bike back to fix. He has had Green lanes of Exeter (i think) put a new rectifier on it, I m worried that this sounds like a common fault and I m concerned that the bike will get a quick fix and I ll have to pick up the pieces! Any advise pleaee, Ta Vince Keep. NB the headlight was n t workinf, only a couple of weeks after the MOT pass!

OOPS, should have said he had put new rectifier on PRIOR to the sale! Cheers.

I had electrical problems with my 2003 450 where it ended up in extreme limp mode for 12 miles and the bike shop rewired most of the connectors as some were looking decidedly dodgy (not an expensive job IIRC) and touch wood no more problems in 2 years.

I don't think the Japanese think bikes get wet or muddy!!
