You used to be able to take them as accompanied luggage on British Rail!

When a drunk tail-ended my Morini 350 I took it from Sheffield to Dorset that way.

Somehow I doubt that you still can now though...it travelled on a passenger train in the parcels van with me hanging on to it to stop it falling over, but the railways don't do parcels any more.

If your over 25 then consider hiring a van..... Northgate or Practical seem very competitive.....

I have just hired a long wheelbase transit, no mileage limit, for £40 a day.....

Of couse a van works out a better option if there are more than one of you taking a bike....

Cheers for the replys gents.
No I cant take it on the train with me any more sadly, and I don't drive so can't hire a van.
Found one company quoteing £100 each way, bit too much for a few days me thinks.
