Hi all. New member to this forum, and very new to green laning to be honest. Just moved to Norfolk, village called Swaffham just off A47. Have a DRZ400 and was wondering if anyone can recommend any green lane trails that I can explore in the surrounding area?

Take a look on there.
There's quite a few near you, all fairly easy.
Peddars way runs straight past you and a lot of it is legal.
There's a great clump down near Thetford/Mildenhall which are worth taking your passport to cross the border to Suffolk.
This route covers most of them:

As has already been pointed out there are some good trails around Thetford...Womble has mentioned that there may be a ride coming up. Drop him a PM.

...other than that I can get out most Saturday afternoons and happy to act as a guide rather than risk riding on your own.

I'd rather keep discussions of dates in the member's area, just to be safe

"a village called Swaffham"

Blimey mate, did you move from the city by any chance?

I'm afraid you'll find that Swaffham is what passes for a town by Norfolk standards

Joking aside though, I like Swaffham (I work out that way some times) and it's not a bad place to be for trail riding oportunities.

There aren't many Byways around your part of Norfolk but there's quite a few Unsealed Unclassified Roads that are worth checking out, especially if you head north toward the coast.

If your not already a member I'd suggest joining up and getting along to the Norwich Group meeting at Trowse (2nd Wednesday of the month). They'll be able to show you plenty of great lanes in your area.

Also the Cambs Group ride in the area fairly regularly and once your a member you'll be welcome to join in with group rides etc.

Cheers

Richard

AdamA, SignXMan & Richard,

Many, many thanks for your replies. Appreciate your help/advice. Womble has offered me a poss rideout, but for some reason I cannot PM him. This forum will not allow me to PM out. Any ideas why?

I'll drop you a PM with some contact details and we can discuss dates and meeting points.

If you can't send PMs, it can be a couple of reasons. It may be that you've just signed up and the system hasn't been updated - how long have you been registered?

It's alright, you're on the list already as you popped along to the last meeting and got your name down :D

I'll pm you my contact details and we can take the discussion offline - as noted in a couple of tweaked posts above, I'd rather not post ride details on the open part of the forum, just in case any nimbys catch wind and decide to interfere.
