Has anyone ever had any success with these? I got some a few days ago and had a go at fitting them last night. First heat pad, one of the wires fell off. 2nd one hardly got warm enough I could only just feel it. I didn't bother fitting the grip over the top but I'm guessing the heat would come through even less. Do I just give up on the idea and get myself some decent gloves instead? |

You can buy a decent quality kit but last winter I decided to switch to heated gloves instead of heated grips and I don't think I can ever go back to just heated grips. |

Hi Alon Two things that stopped me using heated gloves on a Trial bike; Washing muddy gloves. The wiring of rider to the bike - I am always getting on & off the bike to open gates, help other riders, interact with other trail users and very rarely unintentional exits |

Cheapo heated grips have a bad rep. They'll probably burn your loom out. If anyone can advise how you/if you change the actual the actual grip part of an Oxford set and how they work with your existing throttle cable, that would be great as I have a set I might try. The oxford ones are great, I have some on the road bike. But I don't think I could be without renthal soft grips on an enduro bike. I'm thinking some proper waterproof gloves might be a good idea. Maybe seal skins? Shame about the heated grips but how about some of them muff things you see on scooters? |

I've been using these cheap ski gloves for years. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thermal-glove ... 8Syr8wCO1w They are so cheap, that if they get a bit shredded with the odd visit in the brambles then it's no issue to replace them. They are very warm and I only use them when it's below freezing or if chilly and there's a lot of road work. They aren't really suitable for very wet weather though. At £2.99 give 'em a go. Steve |
