can you edit tracks or do they need to be converted to routes first? It's just when i convert to route, the track becomes much less accurate, like the waypoints are set too far apart. Yet if they were set really close I would be there all day deleting waypoints to get rid of the bits of the track i don;t want.

What's the solution, please?

Editing tracks in viewranger is no fun.

If you are having trouble, I would consider;

1. Using basecamp, memory map or other PC based software

2. Using Satmap expedition which despite needed Microsoft Silverlight is extremely good at editing GPS with a great snap to the route function that auto adds waypoints.

I would be interested in other cloud based solutions for more advanced editing.

Thanks Mario.

I'd rather avoid basecamp, though. it was quite complicated.

Edit, I just tried it and it is creating the route from my track in a straight line, only selecting the first and last point as waypoints.

I only left TRF last year. I moved to France and actually I think TRF would be better off working with ramblers than car clubs and also I did not appreciate having my posts deleted when I mentioned it. The French nearest equivalent does exactly this, well it has ramblers, bikers , cyclists and 4x4 drivers as members.

There seemed to be a degree of fascism around here in recent times coming from the corridors of power. Deleting posts that are not offensive but don't toe the party line is a bit 1984, isn't it?

Whats wrong with walking? Loads more do it than drive 4x4 and there are thousands of them on various committees in their retirement, making life difficult for bikers.

That is the main reason I did not pay the money this year.

Hi Rich

The TRF have no issue at all with working with Ramblers.

Indeed, as demonstrated by our presence at Country File Live and Gamefair we welcome the opportunity to work with all countryside groups.

I don't recall any of your posts being deleted and if they were I don't believe it would be for this reason.

I am also sorry for how you feel about fascism. The TRF is working hard to moderate and change the behavior of trail riders.

At a recent meeting in the Peak District, the authorities mentioned they believed we have little control over Trail Riders and possibly even our members.

Given your comments, thank you for demonstrating this is not the case.

If you would like to call and discuss with myself or another director, we would welcome the opportunity to clear up any misunderstanding. I have requested this thread is locked until this is done.

Directors details are available here on the left of page
