I have just sold my freeride and i want to get EXC but can't make up my mind what to go for. Has anyone got some fors and againsts i've been looking at the 250, 300 2T and the 250F 4T but the whole 4T maintenance/reliability cost thing is a worry.
Why would i go for the 300 over the 250 for 50cc is it a weight thing or a power thing or power delivery thing
Thanks

300 is my choice. What you get for your extra cc is a ton of bottom end grunt. It's a power delivery thing too, less mx'y. You get extra power that you'll never need but that all means less load on the motor if you plod. it all makes for a better trail bike than the 250 imo. You can lug them about all day without even needing to hit the band, but when you chose too you'll know why you went 300!

What are they like on the road (only between lanes not as a road going machine)

Fine, husky tops out at 98
If it's jetted right will happily sit at 50-60.
As with all strokers it will want to pull if you're getting close to the valve opening, this can all be adjusted by the different pv springs.
