Tubliss are a great option. (sorry, this hasn't worked as a link but just cut'n'paste it in your browser)

No problem with them overheating on the road as mousses can if not sufficiently lubed. Cheaper than mousses and, though they are not total proof against punctures, punctures can be plugged in minutes without removing wheels/tyres or the tyre can be ridden completely flat in order to complete the ride.

been running mousses for 5 years now never had one overheat only lubed up at tyre change time

fitted mitas e09 on rear, nead to decide what to get for front, I use the bike mainly on road but obviously have started going off road.
thinking mitas e07 or maybe another e09 but open to ideas, going around in circles.

Not been trail riding long and thankfully haven't had a puncture yet.

As I will be group riding soon I've put some Slime in, maybe more peace of mind than real puncture proofing! At least I feel I made some effort if I end up getting caught out.

I need to explore the Tubliss/Mouse/Uber thick tube options before I need to change tyres.

Double tube, place a HD tube inside one of your old tubes, obviously removing the valve stem, Slice it around the inside to open it up, insert your HD tube and slip both inside your tyre!

Have been running both front and back like this for years with no problems whatsoever. Much cheaper than some of the other options mentioned, not bullet proof, but I haven't had a puncture in years!

As for the front tyre choice. Michelin Comp 4 is great and lasts for ages.
