I've just purchased a 350 freeride and the owner before had fitted a rekluse and handlebar mounted rear brake ive been out on it today for the first time and am undecided whether to refit the old clutch and normal rear brake anybody got any feedback for or against

Hi Shakey

That's a pretty expensive extra you've got there.
I'm guessing about £1K including fitting.

I've had a Rekluse for years and wouldn't be without one now.
It's particularly useful on slow rocky, technical climbs with big steps.

My preference would be to have a clutch lever and conventional rear brake.
That way, it's still possible to ride the clutch and get the revs up at slow speed going through deep water etc

The only disadvantage with the Rekluse is that it's not possible to bump start the bike if the battery is flat.
I carry some small jump leads which have done the trick though.

i had mine also in bike when brought,when it wears out i will take out and put old clutch back in,it has turned me into a lazy rider lol,what i do like is when the going gets tough you can just let the rekluse do the work to get you up the steep climbs or rutted sec tions without having to feather the clutch etc,tghe down side is no engine braking going down steep banks until you rev the motor which gets some getting used to
