Post subject:  Places to ride in Chichester West Sussex

Hi,

Just looking for some ideas on trails I can ride near Chichester and in West Sussex, hoping somebody here can help! I have just signed up and paid for registrations, and wondering how/when I should receive the maps?

Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome from East Sussex.

There are a few G Roads in West Sussex, and a lot of byways in Hampshire

Hello DougB, go along to the local group meeting and introduce yourself and I am sure that they will invite you out on some runs along with assistance of map marking.

Regards Chris Hurworth. Loddon Vale TRF group.

Hi Dough

Not a lot in W Sussex so you are better off venturing abroad to Hampshire. Google 'Hampshire definitive map', they have a funky online map that shows everything.

If however you find something near Chi then let me know as I work there :D

Thanks for the replies guys! Much appreciated. I only know of chalk pit lane in chi, its ok but usually lots of dog walkers and not very long, pretty wide though and not many vehicles on it.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it out to some of the group rides if I get some time between working!

Regards

There are about 11 or so nice G Roads (or whatever WSCC call them) that make up a nice route from Bury Hill to Butser Hill. Once you get to Butser Hill you are in Byway Heaven. The route there is great though and the lanes are really nice, some quite technical in places. Would love to give you a GPX but unfortunately i don't have one, would suggest tagging along on a local ride or like others have said get to a meeting. If you get really stuck i can probably give you a google map link to the start of each lane as i'm sure i can remember where they all are no problem.
