Hi everyone, I've seen trail riders coming through Stow and Naunton but I can't find any trails on the map. Any guidance MUCH appreciated!

Also, anything around Fairford and Lechlade ..

Greetings Oliver,

I do not know your area, at all, and until somebody who does comes along might I suggest that you perhaps check out Trailwise or contact you local Group.

To use Trailwise you need a PIN, which can be obtained from the Membership secretary.

Just look on the OS map they're all clearly marked on there.

Probably the best thing to do is pop along to the local groups meeting, if you're unsure how to decipher the map or have any questions on where is rideable.

I'm sure no ones going to be posting locations of lanes in the public forums!

Thanks guys - I am new to using public trails, so all your advice is hugely helpful.

Look for boats (byways) and orpas on an os map.

Greetings again Oliver,

If I might interject just seeing folk ride a route and finding it on a map are not the final parts of the equation.

With respect you do not know if those that you saw using the route were riding legally nor can a map provide you with the up to date information regarding legalities, however your local TRF Group will know and can provide you with the correct and appropriate advice.

I know of routes shown on maps and Highway Authorities' online websites that look as though you could ride them but the data is out of date for a variety of genuine reasons. I have, in good faith, been caught out that way myself in the past :o and no doubt I would not be the only one :!:

Until the Authorities improve signage on routes, or accept our offers to assist, this will always be a potential problem. It might say 'India' on the tyres of a bus but that doesn't mean they were made there nor that the bus is going there
