I currently ride a 2011 KTM EXC 300 2T, and looking to sell and replace with the WR250F, BUT also checked out the CRF250XRL, which is currently £1000 cheeper and 0% finance (keeps my money in my bank longer)
So which is best the Yam or Honda, do they perform the same? which is more reliable?

Thanks in advance for any advice, as really its 50 - 50

Mark

keep the 300 or get a new one. xtrainer is a good model competitively priced.

You don't say which year WR250F? The new ones are cracking bikes - but may well need re-mapping to calm down a bit for trail riding. We have a couple of Surrey members riding these (15/16 models). Build quality is great, but they are a tad expensive. Definitely the WR over the CRF, despite the price difference!

Also wondering why the option to go from 2T to 4T? Often the other way round!

Whatever you go for - enjoy!

You maybe won't enjoy the lack of power compared to the 300 smoker, why do you wanna 'downgrade' ? If it's a four stroke thing I would get a 450/500 .I STARTED ON A crf250x but now have a 450exc..much better....all around.

I really really enjoy the 300, its such a great bike, and I've got a 15 litre tank too so fuel stops are now same as 4T, not that its hugely important but the electric starter is a pain in the ass, as yet again the motor has self destructed despite all the preventive maintenance, new bushes fitted cleaned and still dont work.........they are all small reasons, but i have the chance to buy new, and will run it til the end so want to make the right choice, and personally thought 4T was the way to go, especially the new WR250F, i like where they air filter is located (had a drowning incident on the 2 smoke so lost confidence of it in river crossings).............so maybe look at 450 yams or 350 EXC KTM, BUT the price hurts!!!!!

Have you considered a Beta 4T? Probably a grand cheaper than the ktm version

I have a 300 RR 2 T. Considering a 350 4T.

As you say well built. Come over reliable.

Lower than a ktm, plus cheaper
