Just wired up my Tom Tom direct to battery via a fuse. When it's not
switched on , it.goes flat in a week end, down 3.4 v! Using a lithium battery charger, surprisingly got it back to 13.2 (feeding through a second battery). Any ideas?

Either wire Tom Tom through a switched feed or put a relay in circuit triggered by a switched/ignition feed. Problem solved!

Greetings,

I have used something like the one in this picture for heated grips, etc. as it has a built in fuse.

I rang Tom Tom help line & you were right .your battery will go flat Evan when your satnav is switched off! If wired differently to the battery learn something every day.

Many electrical devices have a passive current draw Dick bike alarms etc best keep bike on Optimate type charge to keep battery in working condition if bike is parked up for more than a week. If you put an ammeter (in series) between the positive battery disconnected lead and the battery +post with bike switched off it will show any residual current drain caused by any passive items.
PS hope the hip is mending well ;)
