Why does retaining the colour make it the best oil ever?

Just asking the question because most oils seem to go from a brown\gold to a dirty black

I usually ride 2-4 hours most weekends unless on a group ride which is all day .oil changes happen between 4-6rides.

I've just put some in my 950.

BTW, I used to do a lot of work in the heavy-duty diesel arena for a famous lubricant company and oil going black is perfectly OK ...it's designed to wash carbon deposits out of the engine.

In bikes with wet clutches, the oil also picks up particles of clutch lining material.

if its a 4 stroke the oil will go black almost immediately unless the bikes brand new. 4stroke oils become contaminated with carbon deposits and hence why it goes black.

2stroke gear box oil should retain its colour a bit, unless you use a lot of clutch and ride it hard, my oil comes out brownish with a hint of the original colour after about 10hrs use.

none of this makes a jot of difference as all oils are made to specifications so all do the same thing. to claim its the best ever because it keeps its colour is utter rubbish. its as good as any other quality brand oil.

The only bad oil is the wrong oil.
