Hello, I've just joined TRF but not full member yet but heading up to Keswick on Monday and wondered if it's OK to ask for any recommendations for trails and routes up around Keswick as I can't get access yet to the Trail Wise section of TRF?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Jonnyp1962

Every legal route in the Lake District is posted here:
http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/roads-transpo ... Routes.asp

Unfortunately based in Keswick there are many road miles necessary to join lanes together.

Greetings,

I have just made up and published a free route on View Ranger. It starts and finishes at Dockray, goes to Keswick, Whinlatter and has some great views (even through the rain  ).

You should be able to find it on the View Ranger map at Dockray as I have displayed the TRF logo to help distinguish it.

Please, who ever might use the route treat the whole area with respect. The Old Coach Road has taken a battering over the past winter so some deep washed out sectors but still no need to deviate from the track on a motorcycle. If you see any 4X4 advise them not to use the route at present.

If you use the route then make a nominal donation to the TRF Fighting Fund or local Mountain Rescue Team.

TTFN

Hugh.
