What are the recommended sevice intervals on a Wr450f that will be used primarily for trail riding and Tarmac between lanes.

Never owned one myself but from speaking with others they are much the same as any other bike.

Yamaha engines are really reliable so long as you regularly change the oil and filter; clean the air filter each time you change your oil and when you first get one check the valve clearances although they change very little normally after initial running in. All the other stuff depends upon your personal use of the bike and preferences.

Good quality semi synthetic motorcycle engine oil seems best compromise but use Yamaha filters.

My 2003 used to get oil changes every 500 miles max and a filter every other oil change at worst.
If the bike had been run a bit harder or it had been really hot weather, I'd go a bit more frequently.
In about 3 to 4000 miles, I never had to top up the oil once.
