Good evening all,

Still new to the trail riding thing, currently got a 2015 CRF 250L and I have had more fun on this bike than I have had on any sports bike I have owned in the past!

Anyway, I am getting to the point of upgrading my car and was thinking about getting a van, if I do buy a van it would be worth while getting one that would fit my bike in there, does any one have any experience of the new Ford Transit Connect and would it accommodate a trail bike? I have comfortably put my bike in a Transit Custom before and previously put 600cc sports bikes in smaller vans like a Connect (bulk head taken out).

Also any peaks trail riders please get in touch I am already running out of green lanes, knowledge and ability!

I do not know about the transit connect but the Peugeot Partner is a similar size and is said to take a couple of bikes:

Thanks for the reply.

The specs are similar to the Connect so that may be the way to go. I may even ask Ford to let me try and fit the bike in the back of their vans.

Paul,
The Peak District is a big place and there are rides starting from all quarters, you will have to be more specific about where you are.
If it's the North West area then Manchester Group can help.

I live near Ilkeston, between Nottingham and Derby, so Ashbourne and Matlock are my nearest Peak D Towns.

East Midlands may be your best bet.

There is somebody from your side who after lists rides on a regular basis starting in that sort of area so just keep checking the forum.

But, for some reason, it never works out like that :lol:
My raised bars only just go through the rear doors when going up the ramp but sit comfortably inside the van.

even with my citroen dispatch van the bars hit the roof loading with ramp,i have to tilt bike a tad on the way up once in it will stand fine with plenty of clearance

ratchet strap round bottom of forks and bottom yolk hey presto fits in van. or...... by one of them mx holeshot devices and lock it down when loading. fit fork bleeders so you can vent some of the pressure off is keeping the forks compressed for too long.
